Gel tips are a modern solution for quick, high-quality nail extensions without complicated shaping techniques. They combine the strength of gel with the flexibility of plastic, allowing them to easily withstand everyday wear and tear while remaining as comfortable as possible. Their thin structure ensures a natural look and minimal sensation on the nails. This extension technique is ideal for beginners.
The tips are easy to file and adjust in length and shape, and SCOTCH BASE is used when working with them to ensure reliable adhesion.
Advantages:
- Speed
- Extending a single nail takes 1–2 minutes;
- Once the tips are secured, there’s no need to build up the nail structure with gel—they’re ready for a top coat.
- Ease of use
- No classic nail modeling skills are required;
- Only a minimal amount of materials is needed;
- SCOTCH BASE is used both for nail preparation and for attaching the tips and bonding them to the top coat.
- Cost-effectiveness
- The cost of a single nail extension is up to 10 UAH;
- less time and materials are required compared to gel or polygel.
- Maximum naturallook
- a thin edge at the cuticle ensures a snug fit;
- Elasticity allows the tip to adapt to the nail plate (it can be bent);
- a smooth surface that requires minimal filing—just buff it for better adhesion to the base coat.
Application instructions:
- Prepare the nail plate: completely remove any previous coating, buff the nail, and clean off dust with DARK GEL CLEANSER.
- Treat the nail with Dehydrator and Ultrabond.
- Apply a thin layer of SCOTCH BASE to the entire natural nail and cure for 60 seconds in the original lamp.
- Select the appropriate tip size.
- Apply a thin layer of SCOTCH BASE to the inner contact area of the tip. There is no need to treat the tip with Ultrabond or buff it beforehand.
- Press the tip against the nail plate, positioning it 1–2 mm away from the cuticle. Cure under a UV lamp for 10–30 seconds.
- Cure in the lamp for 60 seconds until fully polymerized using the original lamp.
- Remove the step in the cuticle area with a file or drill bit, and buff the tip with a 180-grit file or drill bit.
- If necessary, shape the tip with a 180-grit file.
- Wipe away any remaining dust, apply a thin layer of SCOTCH BASE, and cure for 60 seconds in the original lamp.
- Apply colored gel polish or any material of your choice, and cure according to the manufacturer’s recommendations for that material.
