Care for diamond burs:
It is safest to store the handpieces in a special, lockable holder. Bur bits should be washed and cleaned after each use. To clean ceramic and carbide burs, use special brass brushes or regular brushes with stiffer bristles. Any burs can be cleaned quickly and thoroughly in an ultrasonic cleaner. They must be sterilized and, before use, also disinfected.
The grit of the cutters is distinguished by colored markings:
- green—hard
- blue – medium stiffness
- red – softer
